Flash Allies
Last night we played in support of Placebo in Dusseldorf. Before the show we went out to the long line of people waiting for doors to open, and performed an unplugged acoustic set. I brought an umbrella to create an awning for the group. Kevin had just purchased a new bongo that he carried tucked under his arm. The boys strummed these demo acoustic guitars that Nuno is designing. They are hyper designed and sound great.
The flashes are both exciting and crude. We are discovering that people really aren't aware of our group as of yet. And being in a foreign country has only magnified our situation even more. But it is a challenge to entertain people who have no prior knowledge of us. It can be uncomfortable, and humbling- but I feel that if we develop our new live thrill- we will have created something really beautiful.
We are going to be looking for places to perform these flashes as we come into towns. We'll be looking for people and groups websites and radio stations to collaborate with as well. If you look at our itinerary, and see that we'll be in your neighborhood, we'd love to create a flash party together. Send us your potential ideas for a location that you have in mind, and themes for the party ex. "Insanity Rains." Show up on Broadway @ 10:00 in raincoats- carrying umbrellas and wearing Lingerie underneath. We would come on location and play a short set at the remote local. Flashes will take place on the night before our club gig. We would love to hook up with a theater troupe/guerrilla performance artists, and fellow artisans who want to demonstrate and celebrate life.
